Generosity Moment - Luke 14:33  “So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” None of what we have is ours – it all belongs to God. That is the foundation of Christian stewardship. What we have been given is to be used for God’s purposes according to our callings in home, Church, and society. As we learn to leave generously in these callings, we renounce our ownership of our wealth. It's not “ours,” it's His; God owns, we manage for the furtherance of His goals and the level of that conviction bears on what we put in the plate each and every week.

LADIES GUILD 1ST MEETING for 2016-2017 is on Wednesday, September 7th at NOON at the Northwest Site.  We invite the Ladies of St. Paul to be our guest at this Potluck to hear the calendar we have planned, and consider joining Ladies Guild, and be a part of the activities. Ladies Guild members are asked to bring a dish to pass, MITES saved since June, and $20 for yearly membership dues.  Table Service, Dessert, and Beverage is provided.

Chancel Choir begins a new year of practice and singing for Sunday worship on Thursday, September 8th, at 6:00pm. All practices will be at the Northwest site from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Singing for worship will alternate between the three services and two sites. If you would like more information and a schedule of dates, please call Dawn Stock at 815-871-5808.

Sunday School - There will be a Sunday School meeting next Sunday, September 11, at 9:30 in the band room. This meeting is to brain storm some ideas to make Sunday School more efficient for the students and their teachers. If you have an interest, either as a parent or as a helper, please plan on attending. Your attendance does not automatically make you obligated to be a teacher. Until we are able to have a workable plan for our Sunday School, we are unable to provide its commencement this fall.

Next Sunday, September 11th, we plan to introduce our new twelve month theme picked by our Church Council and Pastor Thies.  The theme is “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”  Join us as we consider what we can count on in life.

Looking for volunteers to help with the exterior painting at the Northwest Site on September 6-10 during the day or evening. We will be working on the fellowship hall and narthex. Please contact Mark Beck for further details at 815-222-9938.

Northwest Site carpet cleaning is scheduled for Monday, September 12. If anyone can stay after worship on the 11th to move stuff out of the fellowship hall, it would be greatly appreciated.

Knitting ETC and Community Activity Day Potluck will be held at the NW Site on Thursday, September 8th, 2016 at 11:00. Please come and join us in fun, food and fellowship. Bring a dish to share, everything else will be provided. We have a good time and keep in touch with each other.

Little Lambs is now accepting applications for fall enrollment. Please call Katie Lopez at 815-965-3335, ext. 218.
