Generosity Moment - Galatians 1:6 “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel.”  The Bible uses the image of “turning” to another gospel, or to another god, to show us the seriousness of sin. When we are tempted to follow some sinful course of action, we are being told to turn our backs on God. But the Lord calls upon us to turn away from sin and turn toward Him – where we will find a Father's smiling face and loving embrace. In our stewardship, let us not turn toward greed in fear, but toward our Lord in humility and faith in our faithful weekly offering giving.

New Members – We welcome with this writing our new members received on May 15th: Philip Kramer (Affirmation of Faith) and Allen Tegtmeier (Affirmation of Faith) to St. Paul. Please be sure to continue to give them a warm St. Paul welcome!

Our next Elders Meeting will be next Sunday, June 5th at 4pm at the Northwest site.  This is a change due to a number of reasons.  See you there, elders.

Monday Morning Bible Class has completed its study and weekly meeting until the fall.  We will, however, meet on Monday, June 13th at 10:00am at Stockholm Inn. Please note it’s the second Monday of the month! Join us for good food and fellowship!

LADIES GUILD ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 8th, will have their Luncheon at 11:30am at the Northwest Site.  Mark Weidner will prepare and serve this Celebration Lunch for us.  The menu is a Chicken Salad with additional sides and beverage for $6.00.  Please plan to pay at the Luncheon.  If you did not sign-up at the May meeting, call Noma Weidner (815-968-4831) or Vicky Semenchuk (815-877-3874) by June 1st to make your reservation.  You may bring MITES to this Luncheon, but also continue saving over the summer.

The Church Office will be closed tomorrow for Memorial Day.

A big thank you for all who sent cards, called and prayed for me during my recent surgery. A special thank you to the Pastors’ for the visits! God Bless, Betty Steiner

Join us for the 14th annual St. Paul Band Camp beginning June 20-24, 2016 from 9:00am – Noon each day. Band camp is open to students entering grades 5-9 and who have completed at least one year of instruction on their instrument. Camp will be held at the Northwest Site (4881 Kilburn Ave). Cost is 75.00 for 1st family member and 25.00 for second family member and no  charge for the 3rd family member. There will be an outdoor concert on Friday evening at 7:00pm If you are interested you can fill out a form located in the narthex at both sites.

Vacation Bible School 2016 – We would like to spice it up a little differently this year under the theme “Ocean Commotion: Diving into Noah’s Flood.”  We will be using this curriculum published by Answers in Genesis that hosts the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky (near Cincinnati). Our DCE trained Miss Marybeth Madsen (who also serves as our school Kindergarten teacher) & Pastor Thies have agreed to serve as coordinators together.  But we need a lot of adult and youth volunteers to make it all happen.  We plan to have it at Northwest site this year, July 11-15, from 5:30pm until 8pm.  We now have sign up sheets for where you could help out available at the entrance ways at each site.  Be thinking how you can help and please sign up to let us know, mark your calendars and register any kids you can snag for our “Ocean Commotion!”

Race for Education – The students had a blast running laps around the playground as part of the Race for Education 2016! The kids raised $4,360.00 that will be used for building on last years’ technology of computer devices for kids to learn and do their work on. A big THANK YOU to all who donated!
