Generosity Moment - Amos 7:8  “And the LORD said to me, "Amos, what do you see?" And I said, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass by them.” One of the sins for which the Lord condemned the people through Amos was a disregard for the call of kindness, charity, and generosity toward the weak and lowly. We can see here how seriously the Lord sees this! And that’s no surprise when we consider how God’s activity toward us is built on kindness, charity, and generosity. To act otherwise is to act against the Lord’s own nature.  Generously giving in our church offerings is answering the call.

NEIGHBORFEST IS THIS AFTERNOON! – Can you help?  We need lots of helpers.  No experience needed.  We have jobs like set up, serving food, making friends, pitching in, handing out, joining in, and cleaning up. We are happy to have enough volunteers for making Bar-B-Q (aka Sloppy Joe). Thank you! It’s a fun annual event that takes as many of us a possible to let the neighbors around Central site that we are part of their neighborhood and we want to share with them our witness of Jesus and invitation to join us regularly.  If you can help, please contact Scott Harkins (815-566-9581) or Carol Ulrich.

Very Important Congregational Meeting - Soon we expect you will be hearing more detail on some rather daunting aspects that come to us to consider especially for our Congregational Budget that must be approved by the end of July so that we can continue operating beyond July 31st! In order for us to have that opportunity, our Church Planning Council and Chairman has set Monday, July 27th, at 6:30pm at NORTHWEST SITE as the time and place of our semi-annual Congregational Meeting. In addition to budgetary matters, material and opportunity will be made for Board Reports and discussion and Election of Officers and Board Members for the August 1st, 2015 through the July 31st, 2016 year term. If you miss this meeting, you will miss your opportunity to hear and have a say to decide in the impact that the LARGE AND SUBSTANTIAL decisions will have on our going forward together at St. Paul.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT – Join us for our Wednesday night activity at 6:30pm at Northwest site with a devotional Bible Study led by Pastor Thies.  We will continue THIS WEEK, Wednesday, July 15th, when our topic from Answers in Genesis will be “Dinosaurs in the Bible?” Come and try SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

Summer Retreat for SPYs (Youth) – We are altering our plans because of busy summer schedules.  Talk to Pastor Thies if you haven’t yet to get the latest details. We’re still planning a lot of fun!
