Prayer for the Day is a daily devotional ministry. To hear a devotion recorded by Pastor Thies, please call the special Prayer for the Day phone number (963-7641) and then dial 3 when the call is answered.

St. Paul Care Cards – We hope you will fill yours out so we can take note that you were here. Please pass the completed cards toward the inside aisle during the offering for pickup by the usher. At the same time, please also pass in any unused cards so that we might reuse them another time. They will be picked up afterward as the usher comes back from the altar.

Generosity Moment - Mark 4:34  “He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.” How blessed we are to be His disciples! The Lord has indeed explained everything to us. He has told us all things plainly. Why then are we ever so foolish as to disobey His clear Word? Our fight against sin in the power of the Holy Spirit is truly a struggle. Therefore let us receive the Lord’s help in His Word and Sacraments – and let us fight the good fight of faith and grow up into His image in our regular weekly offering giving as well.

Pastor Thies will be out of the office this week.  He will return to the office Tuesday, June 23rd.  Please call the church office or Pastor Ciprys (815-962-6814) for your pastoral needs.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT – will not meet this Wednesday.   We will resume the following week, Wednesday, June 24th, when our topic from Answers in Genesis will be “Do Animals Evolve?” Join us for our Wednesday night activity at 6:30pm at Northwest site with a devotional Bible Study led by Pastor Thies.
Summer office hours for Sue in the church office begin tomorrow, June 15th from 8:00am – Noon for eight weeks.

SERVICE TIMES FOR SUMMER – will continue as throughout the rest of the year at least until our July Congregational Meeting.  Services are at at the usual 8 & 10:30am at Central and 9:15am at Northwest or as may be otherwise advised at our July Congregational meeting.

Rockford Lutheran School – Thank you to Tim King and Jon Schuknecht for standing in as our congregational reps for the Rockford Lutheran Association this past Monday.  If you have interest in exploring being our official congregational rep there, please speak with Pastor Thies.

Piecemakers - Beginning in July, we will meet every Tuesday from 9 am to 11:30 am at the NW site. Thanks to donations of money for materials from St. Paul Ladies Guild and Dorothy Clegg’s memorial fund and the labor of Jim Brooke and Dennis Slagell, we now have a quilters’ cupboard at the NW site. Anyone interested in joining us to work on these quilts is welcome on any or all Tuesday mornings. The quilts we make are sent annually to LWR and are distributed by them to those in need around the world.
Be thinking ahead – NEIGHBORFEST is Sunday, July 12th – Can you help?  We need lots of helpers.  No experience needed.  We have jobs like set up, serving food, making friends, pitching in, handing out, joining in, and cleaning up. We also need 6-8 volunteers to make a batch of Bar-B-Que (aka Sloppy Joe) ahead of the event and deliver it. It’s a fun annual event that takes as many of us a possible to let the neighbors around Central site that we are part of their neighborhood and we want to share with them our witness of Jesus and invitation to join us regularly.  If you can help, please contact Scott Harkins (815-566-9581) or Carol Ulrich (815-277-7838) or the church office (815-963-5435).
