LADIES GUILD invites ALL Women to our Pot Luck Lunch and meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd at 12:00pm at the Northwest Site.  We would welcome NEW MEMBERS to join with us and participate in some or all of the monthly activities planned for 2014-2015.  CURRENT MEMBERS: please bring a dish to pass.  Table service, beverage, and dessert are provided.  Bring MITES you have saved over the summer and $20 for the membership dues.

Thank you to all who are donating children’s book and coloring books to the Bible shelf in the Narthex. Materials that are not Bible based are being transferred to the nursery.
Monday Morning Bible Class resumes next Monday, September 8th at 10:00am in the Central site undercroft. We will continue our study work with Pastor Thies in the Old Testament book of Zechariah. Along with it we have great fellowship and fun and lift up our prayers for our concerns to our Lord. Come join us and give it a try. We love to welcome new study companions!

In the introduction to the Large Catechism, Martin Luther wrote "I must still read and study daily, and yet I cannot master it as I wish, but must remain a child and pupil of the Catechism, and am glad so to remain".  The Large Catechism contains the basic foundations that all of our doctrine is built upon: the Ten Commandments, the Creed, Lord's Prayer and the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.  Would you like to dig deeper into these basic biblical doctrines that we as Lutherans hold so dear?  Join us as we begin studying Luther's Large Catechism during Sunday morning Bible study beginning September 7th.  This study will be taking place at both the Central and Northwest sites.

If you love to sing and can read music, please consider joining the Chancel Choir. Practice is generally held twice a month on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at the Northwest Site. The first rehearsal for this church year will be this Thursday, September 4th. For more information, call Dawn Stock at 815-623-7216.

“SOMETHING DIFFERENT” continues this week on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 6:30pm.  SOMETHING DIFFERENT is a time of prayer, fellowship, Bible study on Revelation with Pastor Thies and a few other things.  Plan to try it out and maybe bring a friend.

Altar Guild needs volunteers for the Central Site. For more information, please call Karen Utech at 815-229-6940.

"Jesus is My Treasure!"  That is the theme selected for the 2014-2015 school year at St. Paul Lutheran School.  This is a special year for St. Paul because some records indicate that it will be the 125th anniversary of the school!  This number has been difficult to determine.  However, Delphine Poellot has done some digging into the history of the church and school and concludes that it very well may be the 125th year of education at St. Paul.  Our cake will need many candles!

We Need Students! Our upper grades are near capacity but we have PLENTY of seats available in our lower grades! Please contact Mr. Volkert with information you can provide for prospective families.

Little Lambs is now accepting applications for fall enrollment. Please call Jan Morton at 815-965-3335, ext. 218.
