Generosity Moment John 6:5  Jesus said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?" Of course Jesus knows the answer to that question – He knows how He means to care for His people. The Lord provided, and He is still provides. This knowledge frees us for generosity without fear.

Today we welcome Lutheran High’s Madrigal Singers in each of our worship services.  The high schoolers travel the area to share their music and raise awareness or the opportunity for families and young people through the ministry of Lutheran High to receive a high quality Christian education through the school.  Welcome them and remember that St. Paul is the founding Lutheran Church that brought Lutheran High’s beginning … a great history to have!

Wolf Family Fundraiser - You may have heard about the fire that destroyed the Aaron and Lorrie Wolf's house on Thursday, February 27.  While we give thanks that no one was hurt, their needs are great as nearly everything they owned was destroyed in the fire.  St. Paul is having a Spaghetti Dinner to raise funds for the family. This fundraiser takes place today at Central site in the cafeteria from 11:30am – 4:00pm.. Volunteers are needed for: set-up, kitchen, serving, clearing tables, bake sale and clean up. If you would like to volunteer to help out with this, please see Mike Woolery or just show up today and ask!

THE LADIES GUILD will host a Potluck Lunch after the Wednesday morning Lenten services at the Central Site in the undercroft.  Please bring a "dish to pass" from an old or new recipe.  Table service and beverage is provided.  ALL are welcome to be part of this meal and the fellowship.

“Restore the Roar!” is the theme for our Lent midweek services. The Book of Amos has this as its singular goal: to restore the rightful roar from the Lion, Lord Yahweh, the God of Israel. The temptation is to put our hands over our ears to drown out His roar. The world, the devil, and our old Adam tempt us to clip the claws on the Lion and clean up His bloody Passion we are called to follow. But the Bride of Christ, the Church, is called to holy reverence before the Lord, the King of the universe. Join us under this theme and the Book of Amos in midweek Lenten worship on Wednesdays, 10:30am at Central and 7pm at Northwest.  Our own Pastor Ciprys delivers the message this week.

LADIES GUILD WILL MEET on Wednesday, April 2nd at 12:30pm at the CENTRAL SITE following the potluck luncheon.  After our business meeting and election of Officers for next year, join with us to prepare and address Easter greetings.  Bring any MITES you have saved to this meeting.

IMPORTANT Reminder! – If you are going to be using either site for funerals, family get-togethers etc, you MUST call the church office to make sure the calendar is clear. We have a lot of different activities between the school, church and other groups who reserve the sites.  Thank you!

Central Site Altar Guild is looking for members. Please call Karen Utech if you can help with this, 815-229-6940.

USHERS WANTED! Interested in becoming an usher?  We can use you!  If you are high-school age or above and would like to be added to our usher rotation, please let us know.  This is a great way to get to know your fellow members and serve your congregation.  We will work to assign you to a team that best fits your schedule.  Contact Jon Schuknecht (jschuknecht@att.net) for teams at the Northwest Site or Aaron Temple (aaron.temple@gmail.com) for teams at the Central Site.

Do you know someone who could become a St. Paul Supporter?  St. Paul Supporter could be anyone form throughout our area or around the country.  They could be your family, friends, coworkers, members of churches who do not have a school to support - really anyone.  Our supporters will receive periodic updates about the ministry of our school.  We will ask them to support us by prayer and telling others about St. Paul Lutheran School.  They are not obligated or even asked for a financial gift.  Although, we will include an envelope if they would like to support us in that way.  Our goal is to "Share or Story" to as many as will hear it!  Consider adding 10 names of people you know to our mailing list.  Simple forms are available in the church narthex as well as both the school and church office.  This is a project of our new Development Office.  Please talk to Bruce Volkert, our school principal, if you have questions.

Little Lambs is now accepting applications for spring enrollment. Please call Jan Morton at 815-965-3335, ext. 218.

Mrs. Lynn Warner is our school Admissions Counselor. You are always welcome to provide names and contact information to her for perspective school families. You can reach her at 815-965-3335.

Our school is in need of a substitute teacher.  Please contact Mr. Volkert if you are interested or know someone who may be. principal@stpaulrockford.com or 815-965-3335 ext. 215.

St. Paul School received a mini grant of 100.00 from the National Energy Foundation to be used in the 5th/6th grade classroom. Mrs. Freudenberg would like it to be used for a document camera which works with the Smart Board. The cost of the camera is approximately $300.00. We are looking for a couple of people to match this grant to purchase the camera. Thank you!
