Generosity Moment - John 10:27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” On their own sheep are in great danger. They need a shepherd to guide them. The sheep know the Shepherd’s voice – and we delight to go where He leads. Of course, the world, the devil, and our own sinful flesh want to pull us in another direction. Namely, they want to pull us in the direction of death and unfaith. But following the Shepherd means life and trust in the Lord. In our weekly offering giving we are invited to follow His calling in a most practical way.

Today Cinnamon Rolls are available for your purchase WHILE THEY LAST.  Watch for our youth and adult helpers on your way out of services.  Help us with your purchase to get our youth and adults to get to New Orleans this July for the LCMS National Youth Gathering to join in the 25,000 or more there!

Are you or is someone you know interested in learning more what our core beliefs are as a church and Christian church body?  Our "Christian Faith Class" "lays it all out" and compares what we teach in our church from the Bible in comparison to all the other Christian denominations out there?  It's a great review, if you are a member.  If you are not a member, it is the doorway to it and regularized attendance in the Lord's Supper.  The class is provided in two four-hour class periods with a light meal each time.  Our first class period is set for Sunday, April 24th, at 4pm to 8pm.  Please let Pastor Thies (815-962-2145) or the church office (815-963-5435) of your interest so that we can plan for the meal and materials.  Consider coming with a friend, maybe even with someone who need a new church in their life.

This Tuesday the next St. Pauliday will be held on April 19th at Chuck E. Cheese in Rockford from 3:00pm – close. Don’t cook…join us! St. Paul receives a portion of the profits made that night. All are welcome!

This FridayHey Jr. High Youth 5th – 8th  Grade (SPYS) – All of this age are invited and for those in Confirmation this year, we have found a good and simple opportunity to make good on retreat requirement for Confirmation after all. We will be getting you more information very soon. Remember, this is a requirement for our completing your year of Confirmation, even though it was prevented by prior circumstances.

This Saturday - St. Paul Bowling Extravaganza – It’s that time of year again for the St. Paul Moonlight Bowling Extravaganza! This fun event will take place on Saturday, April 23rd. Principal Call –Sunday, April 3rd, our congregation extended a call to Mrs. Beth Landon who presently serves as Principal at Bethlehem Lutheran School in Fairborn, Ohio. Please pray that the Lord would guide Mrs. Landon to make the decision between the Call she serves presently and ours that His Will might be done for all involved. Habitat for Humanity - The building season for Habitat is starting the first Saturday in May. We are building 5 houses this year and could use more volunteers. We work from 9 till 3 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8:30 till 4:00 on Saturdays. On Tuesday and Thursdays you provide you own Lunch on Saturday they provide lunch, which usually consist of a sandwich, fruit, chips and a cookie or brownie, everything is pretty good. I have been doing this for 12 or 13 years and have helped build 15 or 16 houses and enjoy it very much.  The chances to be a witness to your faith is great and to meet and make new friends also. You really don’t need special skills to help; you can be a runner or just help hold some thing, or we will teach you as we go along. You don’t have to come every day just come when you can. I will be working on 2 houses near Montrose and Central. Pete Rundquist is a board member for Habitat and also helps on Saturdays. If you have question or are interested in helping let me know. Call Roger Eggert at 815 742 1988.

St. Paul Place Neighborhood Clean Up Day - April 30th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Please join in the effort to clean up our St. Paul Central Site neighborhood streets, sidewalks, alleys and Acorn Park.
