Generosity Moment - Luke 13:3 “No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” The season of Lent is all about repentance: turning back to the Lord, away from our sins, in faith. We know that it is only in the Lord that we can find salvation. So we do well in this season of repentance to examine ourselves, asking  questions like, “What is trying to keep me away from Jesus?  What is a temptation I face? What is a sin I need to repent of and leave behind?” Then we turn to the Lord for the strength to leave these sins behind, and for the courage to follow Him in faith and faithful living.  In our weekly financial gifts to the Lord, we face the temptation of living for ourselves in this life or being set free in living for Him.

Special Congregational Meeting is this morning, for the purpose of considering extending a Call to a Commissioned Minister as a Principal for our St. Paul Lutheran School.  The meeting will be in the Central site sanctuary following the 10:30am service.  We plan the meeting to begin at approximately 11:45am and it is expected to be brief.

Semi Annual Congregational Meeting – This meeting is scheduled for next Sunday, March 6, in the Central site Cafeteria.  This meeting will provide regular reporting on finances and church boards as well as beginning work on the 2016-’17 Congregational Budget.  The SPYs plan a lunch for those attending in exchange for a Free Will Offering to help them finance their trip to the LCMS Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer.  We anticipate the meeting to begin at 11:45am as well.  All St. Paul Confirmed members of 18 years are older may vote at these meetings. Any members and friends may attend.

Midweek Lenten Worship Services - “Steps in Prayer” –This year we will again have opportunity for us to come together to worship our Lord in our Midweek Lenten Services.  This year Pastor Thies will lead us through a series of meditations called “Steps in Prayer” using the petitions of the Lord’s Prayer as our guide.  Please consider worshiping with us in this way on Wednesdays at 10:30am at Central and 7pm at Northwest.
Wednesday, March 2: “Steps in God’s Will”
Wednesday, March 9: “Steps in God’s Provision”
Wednesday, March 16: “Steps in Protection”
Holy Week is March 20th through Easter March 27th

Knitting ETC and Community Activity Day Potluck will be held at the NW Site on the March 10th,  2016 at 11:00. Please come and join us in fun, food and fellowship. Bring a dish to share, everything else will be provided. We have a good time and keep in touch with each other.

Ladies Guild Midweek Lenten Potluck Lunches – Ladies Guild will host a Potluck Lunch in the Undercroft following the 10:30am service at the Central Site. The Guild will provide table service and beverages and members are asked to bring a dish to pass. We invite and welcome ALL to join us for the meal and fellowship as we follow our Savior’s journey to the cross during this Lenten season.

LADIES GUILD WILL MEET on Wednesday, March 2nd at 12:30pm after the Lenten Potluck at the Central Site.  After a short business meeting and discussing preliminary plans for the April LWML Zone Rally, we will prepare Easter greetings for our Shut-In members.  Remember to bring MITES saved from the February calendar.
