Prayer for the Day is a daily devotional ministry. To hear a devotion recorded by Pastor Thies, please call the special Prayer for the Day phone number (963-7641) and then dial 3 when the call is answered.
St. Paul Care Cards – We hope you will fill yours out so we can take note that you were here. Please pass the completed cards toward the inside aisle during the offering for pickup by the usher. At the same time, please also pass in any unused cards so that we might reuse them another time. They will be picked up afterward as the usher comes back from the altar.
Generosity Moment - “The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:5-6 ESV). Wouldn't you like to be free from worry and anxiety? Isn't it worry and anxiety that often keep us from living the generous life God has called us to? St. Paul contrasts anxiety with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving in making our requests known to God. In other words, when you are tempted to anxiety and worry: pray to the Lord with a thankful heart and pour out your supplications before Him.
Today at our 10:30am Service – “Jesus- The Light of the World Has Come!” Join us at the Central Site at 10:30am as we praise Him in Word and song. In conjunction with the choir's presentation of the Service of Carols this morning, there will be a light lunch (soup and salad) served in the Undercroft. All are invited to join us. If you like, bring a dessert to share (though not required!) Bring your family and friends to this special traditional gathering!
Today also for our 6th grade & up young people (SPYs) – Our Christmas Party is today after a great worship service at 10:30am with our choirs singing. Plan to stay and meet in the Cafeteria for pizza along with any snack you can bring. Plan for some time together and some fun and a devotional time from God’s word.
Midweek Advent Services. This Wednesday, December 16th, our school children will present their Christmas Service, “Christmas in KidCity” in the gymnasium at Central site. The 10:30am and 7:00pm services will be held in the gym. Come join us in some special worship of our God and Savior and His peace offering message for the Season!
LADIES GUILD INVITES All to the 3rd Annual Soup Lunch in the Undercroft on Wednesday, December 16th following the 10:30am Christmas Program Service. Table service, dessert, and beverage will be provided along with a variety of homemade soup. Join us for this Christmas fellowship.
Toy Collection for Kids - Again this year, we will be collecting new toys for Christmas gifts for those less fortunate. We need toys for boys and girls. We would like dolls in all skin tones as we serve a variety of nationalities. We can use blankets or quilts in doll sizes that will be given with a doll. If you would rather have us buy the toy, we have volunteers for this job. If you purchase a Target gift card from the Script program we will help the school and a child. The cards could be placed in an envelope and marked Christmas Toys. Please contact Sandy Kahler with any questions at 815-877-7936.
