Prayer for the Day is a daily devotional ministry. To hear a devotion recorded by Pastor Thies, please call the special Prayer for the Day phone number (963-7641) and then dial 3 when the call is answered.

Generosity Moment - Ephesians 4:1  “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you were called.” The callings we have from the Lord are our “vocations.” Here Paul talks about our vocation as Christian. We are called to be His people and to reflect His love, generosity, and peace within the Church and through our weekly offering giving.

Monday Morning Bible Class meets tomorrow morning, August 3rd at 10:00am at Stockholm Inn. Please join us for good food and conversation!

Pastor Thies is away this weekend and next.  He will return to the church office Monday, May 10th.  Please contact the church office or Pastor Ciprys with any pastoral needs.

Don’t forget your school supplies for those who need them at Fairgrounds Housing Project.  See the insert for details. Next Sunday is the last to bring them.

Are you or someone you know interested in what our church teaches?  Pastor Thies is looking at offering our Christian Faith Class on Sunday evenings, August 16th & 23rd.  In this class he compares what we teach and believe to what others do while using the Bible for a guide.  Completion of the class makes one eligible for membership.  If you would like more information, please let the church office know or indicate so on your bulletin’s Care Card.  Upon his return, Pastor Thies will contact you further.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT – We will be taking the next Wednesday off and resume on August 12th when our topic from Answers in Genesis will be “Fossils & the Flood: What’s the Connection?” Come and try SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

Vacation Bible School – This summer St. Paul will be partnering with Mt. Olive Lutheran in their Bible Adventure Camp “The Life and Love of Jesus.” This will be held at Beyer School in Rockford this week, August 3rd – 6th from noon – 3:00pm. Volunteers and donations are needed to make this a success. Registration forms are in the narthex at both sites.

We include this announcement from our Rockford area clergy:  All Rockford All Church Picnic: Saturday, August 8, 2015, 4-7pm, at YMCA Camp Winnebago, 5804 N. Main St. A combined effort of multiple churches, we invite you to invite your congregation to join us!  Have people bring a dish to pass, their own beverage and table ware, and their own meat to grill. If your congregation wants to provide special music, please contact Pastor Al Stalworth (818-980-6491) or Pastor Jeff Honson (815-222-1467).  The YMCA staff will provide activities for the children. Please plan to attend!  May God bless you!

Dinner Auction 2015 – An American Girl doll, Julie, has been donated for the auction. Once again, we are asking for outfits for the doll. Last year we were able to make two packages which went over very well. You can buy or make an outfit, by sewing, knitting or crocheting. If someone is in to woodworking, a doll bed would be very nice! If you have any questions on sizes, please contact Sandy Kahler at 815-877-7936.

Any day is an Open House at St. Paul Lutheran School.  You may direct interested families to our Admission Counselor Team of Dyan Lofgren (ext. 215) and Sue Wilkinson (est. 210).  They can be emailed at stpaulrockford@gmail.com or called at 815-965-3335.

Little Lambs is now accepting applications for spring enrollment. Please call Katie Lopez at 815-965-3335, ext. 218.
