Generosity Moment Luke 2:24  “And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” Jesus is enough. Moses and Elijah point to Jesus and are happy to fade into the background. With our eyes focused on Him and Him alone, our lives come into focus. He is primary, all else secondary. When that order is right in our lives, things truly fall into place. And that influences what we give back to our Lord through His church.

St. Paul welcomes new members today at the Central Site. We welcome Don Dorwalt
(Transfer), Mark Carpenter (Adult Confirmation), and Lugene Batton (Adult Confirmation).
Please give them a warm St. Paul welcome!

TODAY!!! All are invited to our school’s St. Paulapalooza this afternoon from noon until
3:00 PM in the school gymnasium!  You are encouraged to invite prospective families to this
party event to celebrate our school ministry.  This will include our annual Book Fair, a band
concert, our school kids will sing, an Open House, and more.  There will be food as well!  All are invited to contribute to our cook off which we are calling "Potluckapalooza"!  This is a pot luck with prizes!  You may enter a dish in any of the following categories to compete for "Best in Show": "Something with Bacon", "You Got Yer Sausages", "The Rest of the Meats", "Hot Dish" (of course), "Cold Dish", and "Just Desserts".  There IS a trophy!  Potluck dishes may be
dropped off in the cafeteria kitchen any time that Sunday morning. Please include your name!  This is your chance to show off your culinary skills!

Also today we invite any who can to be Ambassaors to the Central site neighborhood
to deliver cookies, a greeting, and an invitation to next month’s CHURCH 4U
Neighborhood Service on Sunday, March 9th.  If you can make one delivery for us, it will help.
Please gather to coordinate the effort at 3pm today in the Undercroft. You may enter through theside door near the elevators.

Thank you to all who purchased SPYS Superbowl Subs last weekend.  Thanks to your
purchases each of our 12 youth sub makers earned $22 for their youth accounts for future
SPYS events.  We plan to attend an NID Youth Gathering in Roselle in March and possibly a
Summer trip.  Thanks for your support of our young people in this way!

Semi-Annual Congregational Meeting will be held tomorrow,  February 10th, at 6:30pm at
the NORTHWEST SITE. We will consider a Five Year Strategic Plan and Business Plan
which includes deciding on whether or not to initiate a three year $300,000 capital
“Bridge” campaign to challenge our personal giving to close our near term budgets.
(Note: If you do not want such a thing, we want you to come represent your opinion that way at
the meeting.)  Please plan to attend to help decide on current and future needs of the church
and school.

"SOMETHING DIFFERENT" - We are meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 6:30pm at the Northwest Site with a study portion on Revelation led by Pastor Thies.   Come and try SOMETHING DIFFERENT!  You might like SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

USHERS WANTED! Interested in becoming an usher?  We can use you!  If you are high-school age or above and would like to be added to our usher rotation, please let us know.  This is a great way to get to know your fellow members and serve your congregation.  We will work to assign you to a team that best fits your schedule.  Contact Jon Schuknecht (jschuknecht@att.net) for teams at the Northwest Site or Aaron Temple (aaron.temple@gmail.com) for teams at the Central Site.

Prayer Chain – If you would like to be a part of the prayer chain, please contact Diane Schoonover at 815-988-8886. You can also call that number if you have a prayer request or email her at: ddschoon@att.net

Mrs. Lynn Warner is our school Admissions Counselor. You are always welcome to provide names and contact information to her for perspective school families. You can reach her at 815-965-3335.
Our school is in need of a substitute teacher.  Please contact Mr. Volkert if you are interested or know someone who may be. principal@stpaulrockford.com or 815-965-3335   ext. 215

You are welcome to our monthly "Discover Us Breakfast".  These are open to anyone who is interested in learning about our school.  This could be prospective families, church members, local clergy, intrigued community members, alumni, really anyone!  YOU may invite people to a "Discover Us Breakfast".  The 59 minute breakfast events are primarily on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30 AM in the cafeteria.  Participants will receive a hot breakfast while they hear about our school primarily from students and parents.  Tours of our building will be offered to our guests.  Anyone interested is asked to RSVP with Lynn Warner (Admission Counselor) at (815) 965-3335 ext. 215 or stpaulrockford@gmail.com.  Here are the dates for the remaining "Discover Us Breakfasts":  February 20, March 20, April 17, and May 22

Do you know someone who could become a St. Paul Supporter?  St. Paul Supporter could be anyone form throughout our area or around the country.  They could be your family, friends, coworkers, members of churches who do not have a school to support - really anyone.  Our supporters will receive periodic updates about the ministry of our school.  We will ask them to support us by prayer and telling others about St. Paul Lutheran School.  They are not obligated or even asked for a financial gift.  Although, we will include an envelope if they would like to support us in that way.  Our goal is to "Share or Story" to as many as will hear it!  Consider adding 10 names of people you know to our mailing list.  Simple forms are available in the church narthex as well as both the school and church office.  This is a project of our new Development Office.  Please talk to Bruce Volkert, our school principal, if you have questions.  For regular Church Bulletin Readers... The title "St. Paul Support" replaces "St. Paul Cheerleader" so people don't think they have to have pom-poms to support our school!

Mark your Calendar for Saturday, March 8th from 11 am – 2 pm and join us for St. Paul School's Fun Fair.  To go along with our school theme the Fun Fair’s theme is “Grow ing in Jesus!”  We are looking for donations of all kinds to be used for our “give away” table.  Please see Liz Temple (815)637-4486  if you have something you would be willing to donate.  Thank you!!
