Prayer for the Day is a daily devotional ministry. To hear a devotion recorded by Pastor Thies, please call the special Prayer for the Day phone number (963-7641) and then dial 3 when the call is answered.

Generosity Moment - John 2:3 “When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”” Behold the faith of Mary: she sees a problem and simply lays it before her Son and Lord. She does not offer a proposed solution, she does not demand, she simply states the situation and waits for the Lord's response. She trusts that the Lord is a giver and she knows that He always provides. May such a faith be ours that we might give generously in our weekly church financial offering.

Pastor Thies is away today for a personal trip, will return home this evening and will be in the office as normal tomorrow.

SPYS (youth) WINTER RETREAT at Northwest – We hope all of our young people ages 6th grade and up can make it to our Winter Retreat planned for Friday evening, January 29th through Saturday, the 30th at Northwest site.  We will have games, food, fun, movies, adventures, devotions and Pastor Thies will lead us in some video material from Answers in Genesis as to how we can respond to the issues of Evolution Theories.  This retreat will serve also as our Confirmation Retreat for this year.  Please let Pastor Thies know if you are planning to attend.

St. Paulapalooza & Potluckapalooza will be held on Sunday, January 31st from noon until 3:00pm. This is St. Paul’s first Open House of the year! This is a wonderful event for perspective families to learn about our school. Please invite families you know to this festive occasion. The bands will play, the kids will sing, there will be a craft table, a balloon man and of course the annual Book Fair! We will also have our 3rd annual Potluckapalooza. It is a potluck cook-off with a traveling trophy to the big winner! You may come and sample the food or even enter your own favorite dish. You may prepare an entry in any of the following categories: 1.) Appetizer 2.) Entrée 3.) Dessert or 4.) Kids category. Simply bring your dish before noon on January 31 if you would like to enter.

Any day is an Open House at St. Paul Lutheran School.  You may direct interested families to our Admission Counselor Team of Dyan Lofgren (ext. 215) and Sue Wilkinson (est. 210).  They can be emailed at stpaulrockford@gmail.com or called at 815-965-3335.
