Our Church Planning Council has called a meeting of the Voting members of St. Paul (18 & older) to a Special Congregational Meeting for the following purposes:
1) Consideration of a separation package due to changes in pastoral staffing
2) Alteration to the schedule of weekend services, particularly Saturday night to midweek
3) Disbursement of excess Specific Ministry Fund donations (Pastor Ciprys program)
The Meeting will be held Monday, November 11th, at 6:30pm
at the Northwest site!!! Please plan to attend, be informed and register your votes together!

T-Coil Hearing Loop System at Northwest site – You will notice the signs in the sanctuary demarking the area of service for reception by many hearing aids of a wireless feed of the spoken parts of our service.  You will need to sit within the marked area.  If you have any questions as to how the system works, you can speak with Harold Bomgarten or Bruce Jacobsen.  We are thankful to Harold, Bruce and our Trustees for their work over quite a period on getting us this trial system.  Let us know if it works for you on your Care Card!

Did your know our Trustees & others have been diligently taking care of many things for our physical facilities?  These have included the entire exterior facing on front of NW site that had rotted and was falling off, the roof leak at NW site and repair to bath interior, the new sign work beginning at Central, the Central site elevator (with much help of church office (Sue)), the Undercroft leaks and repeated work in baths, and many other projects.  Please thank them and those who assist them in these things and the grounds volunteers when you find them.  And consider pitching in by calling our office or indicating on your Care Card to volunteer for projects.

Pastor Thies has been serving Lord of Life in La Fox some weekends.  We are happy for them that a pastor has accepted their call and will be installed on Sunday, November 10th.  Pastor Thies will be away that Sunday morning for the last time in that his work, along with Pastor Rub’s, should be finished.  We appreciate your patience as we have been able to assist them in a mutually beneficial way over these recent months.

The Board of Social Ministry is collecting food items now through November 17th. We are collecting typical thanksgiving dinner items: vegetables, gravy, cranberries, stuffing, etc. Please NO glass jars of any kind. Look for the container marked “Annual Thanksgiving – Board of Social Ministry” in the narthex at both sites. If you wish to make a monetary  donation we will purchase food for the boxes. If you have any questions, please call Dan or Nancy Collins at 815-398-0129. Thank you in advance!

What if we got every person at St. Paul witness training in proclaiming Christ to the community?  Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 23, for our first of five witness training seminars through “MISSION U,” Lutheran Hour Ministries lay training.  Let’s dedicate part of that Saturday to looking how the Lord can use us more effectively in reaching out in His Name.  The training will be from 9am to 2pm, with lunch & childcare provided.  Watch for more!

Little Lambs is now accepting applications for fall enrollment. Please call Jan Morton at 815-965-3335, ext. 218.
